Novel Progress
I’m in a place where there is very little internet connection but guys, oh my god, oh my god.  Tomorrow I’m going to start writing the last chapter of my novel.

“We have to tell our daughters and our colleagues, we have to tell ourselves, to believe we got the A, to reach for the promotion, to sit at the table.  And we have to do it in a world where, for them, there are sacrifices they will make for that.  Even though for their brothers, there are not.” gotagirlcrush: Why we have too few women leaders | Video on TED.com Got a girl crush...

Things I Don't Like
Men who wink at me. I talk about the weather, all the time, with everyone including people I don’t know at all and people I know very well - why can’t I stop? The smell of the veggie burgers my co-worker makes every day for lunch. They smell like how I feel when I’ve eaten too much fried food. Feeling nauseated. I learned today that I can’t spell...

Novel Progress
I did not write anything for a full seven days.  Not even a blog post.  December 12 was the last day I even sat down at my computer - I went the Intelligentsia in Silverlake with my laptop.  It seemed like a good idea at the time but it was absolutely the worst, don’t do it. Tonight, my writing workshop will talk about 50 pages of my novel, near to the climax, or possibly containing parts...

Weird-o writing week.  I’ve been writing in chunks of 500 to 800 words, relatively frequently.  I’m trying to figure out how to pick up the pace of my story and I’m not sure if I’m succeeding.

Hair Horoscopes Are A Thing →
Naturally , I’m a Cancer: Astrological horoscope for Cancer (June 22 - July 23) You are ruled by the intuitive, moody and emotional moon. Therefore, your hair will tend to change with the fluctuations of the Moon. Cancers give new meaning to changeable hair. You do tend to have very strong opinions about what looks good with your hair regardless of what your hair consultant may advise....

I hate this article *so* much. →
DISGUST IS THE APPROPRIATE RESPONSE TO MOST SITUATIONS - Jenny Holzer coketalk: Keeping romance alive in the age of female empowerment? Are you fucking kidding me? This kind of shit drives me crazy. Yet again, the underlying assumption here is that women are the ones who have to coddle a man’s delicate sensibilities. Am I the only one who sees that the condescension is inherently worse? Am I...

I haven’t written one of these updates in too long.  Since the last time I wrote, I had a period of not really being productive.  I have written maybe fifteen pages the last month.  Or something like that.  I’m not really sure.  All I know is that I haven’t done very well.  Finished chapter 15 on Monday night.  I’m getting towards my last 50 pages - I might even be writing...
